Who says you need a parka to play in the snow? Winter is coming to Kidspace, and it’s going to be adorable—and warm! Starting November 7, the Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena is transforming into a flurry-filled wonderland for the 5th annual Winter Frolic, and trust us, this is one SoCal “snow day” you won’t want to miss.
For families used to beach days and 70° Decembers, Winter Frolic delivers the magic of the season with a uniquely California twist. Little ones can slip, slide, and giggle their way across the frost-free Sock Skating rink, where they can twirl like the Sugar Plum Fairy or slide like a penguin, no mittens or snow pants required!

The fun continues with whimsical winter play at every turn. Kiddos can ride trikes through a life-sized gingerbread house, build forts out of frost-free ice blocks, and dress up the snowman family for their big holiday road trip. Every corner of Kidspace is bursting with holiday spirit, both indoors and out, with no chance of frostbite.

5 reasons families make Winter Frolic a holiday tradition
- A perfect “first snow” experience for SoCal kids: For little ones who’ve only seen snowy lands in storybooks, Winter Frolic is pure wonder. Loads of winter play gives them that wide-eyed “whoa” moment—without the long drive, the frozen fingers, or the heavy coats. It’s the perfect introduction to winter magic, made for tiny toes and big imaginations.
- It brings the holidays to life, L.A. style: Instead of neon light shows or crowded malls, Winter Frolic turns the season into something kids can actually touch. From sparkling décor to sensory play, it’s an experience that feels handcrafted, where “holiday spirit” means creativity, connection, and laughter under sunny skies.
- A break from screens and schedules: Between holiday shopping, recitals, and streaming marathons, families crave unplugged moments. Kidspace gives parents and kids permission to just play—to dance, build, imagine, and get delightfully messy. It’s a welcome moment to be present in the middle of December chaos.
- It grows with your family: Toddlers might love sliding in their socks, while older kids take pride in building ice forts or helping the younger ones dress up snowmen. Each year brings a new layer of fun—and a new reason to return. It’s a tradition that evolves as your family does.
- It’s where holiday memories are made, saved, and shared: With its whimsical sets, fanciful play, and nonstop smiles, Winter Frolic is as camera-ready as it gets. Parents capture those once-a-year moments—the sock-skating spins, the giggly group photos, the pure joy—that become part of every family’s Tinybeans journal.

What are you waiting for?! Plan a trip to this joyful space where imaginations sparkle brighter than tinsel and every laugh feels like a gift. Come frolic and play the Kidspace way and make holiday memories that will last all year long.
